Historic Rosedale Charlotte North Caroline

3427 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28206704-335-0325

In Memorial

In just sixteen short months, Historic Rosedale lost two of its most ardent supporters and friends. We look back with fond memories on Dr. John Glover and Mr. Jim Williams.

Dr. Glover passed on May 1st of this year. He was a physician in the Charlotte community for over thirty-four years and a proud member of Christ Episcopal Church. Dr. Glover served on the Board of Directors at Historic Rosedale and he and wife Ann were integral in many of our initiatives and historic preservation efforts. Their daughter Margaret Glover Schrimsher carries on the family legacy as a member of our current Board of Directors. Following a private committal, a memorial service will be held on Friday, May 6th at 2:00 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, 1412 Providence Road followed by a 3:30 PM reception at Southminster, 8919 Park Road.

Dr. Glover’s Obituary

Mr. Jim Williams noted colonial historian, author, North Carolina history expert and longtime officer of the Mecklenburg Historical Association, died on December 29, 2020. Mr. Williams was a long time Rosedale supporter and served on the Board of Directors and lead many research projects along with this wife Ann. His children are hosting a celebration in his honor on Sunday, May 22, from 5-8PM at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery in Charlotte to raise a glass, sing a song and share memories about Jim. You can follow the news of the celebration, on the event page:  https://www.facebook.com/jim.williams.92102564. You can RSVP for the celebration here:  https://forms.gle/UeFioWg4LCmXqTZN6
