Now that the holiday season is nearing, Historic Rosedale is readying the c. 1815 home for Christmas tours! We are excited to interpret some of the 20th century history of the home and will be decorating it as it would have looked circa 1945. We need your help to make our vision a reality!
These tours will celebrate the Davidson family, who were the last residents to live in the home: Craig Davidson, his wife Louise Heagy Davidson, and their two daughters Mary Louise and Alice. Visitors will learn about what the property looked like in the late 1940s, as well as typical post-war Christmas traditions. There will also be a limited-time, special exhibition on first-edition children’s Christmas books which are the result of a partnership with UNC Charlotte Special Collections.
A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available. Sponsor decorative candles in one of our beautiful historic windows. Underwrite our special Children’s Christmas book exhibit which will bring first edition holiday books for the public’s viewing pleasure. Deck the Great Hall in holiday cheer and joy or light up the holiday night in our Gardens. For a truly special display, hang the holly and lights on one of three grand porches.
Each sponsor will receive two (2) tickets to redeem at a special sponsor preview tour on Friday, December 4th at 6pm and be recognized in a special printed guide. You may choose more than one sponsorship if you would like. Please contact roseedu@historicrosedale.org if you wish to name your sponsorship in honor or memory of another person(s).
