Historic Rosedale strives to inspire visitors to think deeply about the history of Charlotte, the state of North Carolina, and the United States. Through the African American Legacy project, we are formulating steps to expand and promote the truthful, compassionate, and equitable presentation of the African Americans – both enslaved and freed – who worked and lived at our site throughout its 200+ years of history. Join representatives from the Rosedale team for an in-depth look into the ongoing efforts of this multi-year initiative as they discuss how they have incorporated research, oral histories, and family genealogy into exhibits, programming and special events
