This collaborative event gave Historic Rosedale and AAL the opportunity to begin our efforts at building relationships with the community.  At this event there was a capoeira class which represents an act of resistance for the enslaved people who labored the land, as it was practiced in its true form. Following the capoeira class was a procession around the site with live drumming and dancing. It was a moving event and as you can see in one of the pictures the sun shone down on them while they paid homage to the ancestors under the Swamp Chestnut Oak tree (1894).
