Black History Month “Music is our Refuge” February 2025

“Music is our Refuge” was the theme of this year’s Black History Month Celebration.  We had an exhibit on African Instruments in the cellar, the grand parlor was filled with portraits of lesser known African American artists and the gift shop was and still holds items with a music theme for sale by local artists.  We also had a Silent Auction and a gathering with the community on February 22nd that was catered by MoRae’s Catering. Additionally, we were blessed to gather with the Queen City Sr. African Drummers and Praise Dancers, and had the honor of listening to Joshua Carter, Actor Interpreter from Lynchburg, VA.  We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to see what next year brings!
