We Honor The Ancestors
Saturday, June 18th
1:00 to 4:30 pm
Juneteenth is the commemoration of the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Join us for a Juneteenth event as we honor the ancestors in peaceful and reflective tribute.
Our gardens and grounds will be open from 1:00 to 4:30. The basement kitchen of the 1815 Rosedale house will showcase the latest exhibits from our African American Legacy project. This project is a descendant based expansion of our knowledge and interpretation of the enslaved and freed African Americans who lived and worked at Rosedale. At 2:00 (in the basement kitchen) we will begin a program of music, prayer and poetry reading that will last approximately 30 minutes
This is a FREE community event.
