The Great Backyard Bird Count
The Great Backyard Bird Count | 02.15.2013
Historic Rosedale Plantation is participating in the annual Audubon Society Great Backyard Bird Count beginning February 15, 2013. The three day event offers a unique opportunity for individuals, book clubs, bridge clubs, church groups or schools for a unique field trip. Schools may use this to meet various science standards and indi-viduals will be amazed at the types and number of birds that frequent the gardens at Rosedale. Rosedale will pro-vide tracking sheets and bird identification books as well as volunteers and staff to assist your group if needed. Results tracked by participants will be submitted to the National Audubon Society. In 2011 the study created the largest continental snapshot of bird populations ever re-corded. Have your group participate in this green event at one of Charlottes most pristine habitats that includes a winter garden, Big Tree Museum, and North Carolina Treasure Trees.
